Wish I could enter more than once I really dont know which of my snowy pics is best.
Anyway, here is one of them, sized to postcard dimentions which was taken early 2006 shortly after a snowstorm in the Scottish lowlands.
Hope you enjoy it

that is unreal!
how did you get it?
did you use a flash?
or did you take 2 shots at different exposures and merge them?
it just seems to me like the light would make it difficult to get such an even lighting everywhere.
thanks
I just used the one shot, no flash but a slightly longer exposure than usual then tweaked the contrast and brightness a little once I got back to my pc. It was snowing a tiny bit still at the time. These trees where in a small copse on the top of a hill and all rather thin so the light penetrated the canopy fairly easily from the grey sky and just cast a faily hazy shadow on the fresh snow which you can see contrasts slightly with the snow covered fields in the background.
ah yes, I see it is slightly darker.
it must be the overcast sky that gives it the quality.
the light sems to be incredibly ambient and the way the snow is only on this side of the trees is so surreal!
when i saw it in preview mode, it looked like it had been painted.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
